You are a student on a hospital placement. Each week you record the activities you observed in a logbook that your supervisor signs off. A friend on the same placement, who missed several sessions through illness, asks to copy some of your entries so that her logbook is complete before the deadline. She says everyone does it and that it is only paperwork. What do you do, and why?

What a strong answer tends to do

Names why a signed record matters: someone signs it trusting that it is true.
Refuses the copying without abandoning the friend, and offers a real route to fix the gap.
Holds the position calmly when accused of being self-righteous.
